Daniel E. Thompson, M.D. President & Medical Director
Daniel E. Thompson, M.D., serves as President and Medical Director of SkyCare Global, bringing strong clinical leadership and real-world emergency medicine experience to the organization.
Dr. Thompson began his academic journey in upstate New York, where he graduated as valedictorian of his high school class. Driven by a long-standing commitment to helping others through medicine, he was accepted into medical school while still a high school senior. He attended Siena College and Albany Medical College, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree.
He later completed his Emergency Medicine residency in Orange County at the University of California, Irvine, serving as Chief Resident and receiving multiple honors, including Resident of the Year. Dr. Thompson is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and currently lives and practices in Tampa, Florida.
As Medical Director of SkyCare Global, Dr. Thompson provides experienced oversight rooted in emergency medicine, patient safety, and transport-focused clinical judgment. His background helps shape the company’s approach to case review, escort standards, mission planning, and quality of care across a wide range of transport scenarios.

Our Medical and Non-Medical Escorts
SkyCare Global works with highly skilled medical and non-medical escorts who are selected for professionalism, sound judgment, adaptability, and calm performance in dynamic travel environments. Our mission staff support patient movement aboard commercial airlines, trains, cruise ships, and other appropriate travel methods depending on the case.
Our medical escort network includes experienced clinicians such as flight paramedics, registered nurses, physicians, and other qualified professionals with strong clinical backgrounds. These escorts are equipped to support patients who need medical oversight, mobility support, monitoring, or added reassurance during travel.
Our non-medical escorts support cases where clinical care is not required, but where hands-on assistance, travel coordination, observation, and continuity still matter. This may include support for elderly travelers, travelers with cognitive or developmental needs, or individuals who require help navigating the travel process safely and smoothly.

Our local support specialists can assist with destination-based coordination and practical gap-filling services that help reduce friction for clients and travelers. Depending on the case, this may include local ground support, airport assistance, destination coordination, local language or cultural support, transportation help, on-site logistical assistance, and other case-specific services that help the overall mission run more smoothly.
This added layer of support is especially valuable when clients are coordinating across unfamiliar locations, limited local resources, language barriers, or time-sensitive situations.
